Four simple things to consider before using your embroidery machine for embroidering on leather goods.

1. Sample Leather
   For best results, practice on a sample of the leather you are going to stitch on. This will allow you to dial in the right settings for best quality and less risk of damaging your finished product.
2. Density
   Lighten density of your design by 5-15% depending on the particular design to prevent perforation of the leather.
3. Needle Selection
   70/75 Sharp titanium needles. Melco recommends Organ Brand.
4. Hooping
   Here are some good ideas to help prevent unwanted burn marks on your leather from hooping:
   -Hoop loose then tighten.
   -Use backing as a liner between your leather and the hoop or pre-wrap hoop with athletic gauze.

Bush Official Honors Melco for Export Achievements

Denver, CO. - Chris Padilla, Under Secretary of International Trade today presented the U.S. Commerce Department’s Export Achievement Certificate to Melco of Denver, Colorado. The award is presented to businesses that have utilized the Department’s Commercial Service export assistance to make their first export sale or open new foreign markets.

OC Oerlikon AG Purchases Melco Industries Parent Company Saurer AG - 2/28/2007

Melco Embroidery Systems announces that Saurer AG of Switzerland, parent company of Melco, has been acquired by the OC Oerlikon Corporation AG, Pfäffikon, Switzerland. Oerlikon finalized the stock purchase and acquisition of Saurer on January 1, 2007, and is currently implementing the steps for integration of the Saurer Group into the Oerlikon corporate structure.
